Thick Walled Vehicle Finite Element Model
Rhamm has the ability to convert legacy data into meshable geometry, from most any format. For this project we received geometry in BRL-CAD™ format. The format was converted into solid geometry using SolidWorks, and then the geometry was used to create a continuous hex mesh with Hypermesh®. In this case, the customer wanted a continuous hex mesh with three elements through the thickness. As you can see in the picture below, plate thickness variations were handled by creating a strip of elements to make the transition.
