Damaged Wing with Flutter

Modeling and Predicting Flutter of Damaged Wing

This project was performed for the 46th Test Wing with funding provided by the Joint Technical Coordinating Group for Aircraft Survivability (JTCG/AS), Bulnerability Reduction Subgroup.

Damage to aircraft wings is a very dynamic event. The dynamics of a wing’s response is a function of mass distributions, stiffness distributions, and loadings on the wing. These distributions can change when damage is inflicted thus changing the flutter characteristics of the wing.
