Man Portable Missile (MANPADS) Impacting Several Generic Plate and Aircraft Structures

This project was performed for the 46th Test Wing with funding provided by the Joint Technical Coordinating Group for Aircraft Survivability (JTCG/AS). The objective was to develop body-on-body penetration analysis techniques to predict: missile velocity, position, penetration depth, degradation of missile and target structure, and missile kinetic energy as a function of time. This simulation was modeled using dynamic non-linear Lagrangian finite element methods
