Blast against a surface ship

Following the terrorist attack on the U.S.S. Cole, this simulation was developed to study the effects of explosive impacts on surface ships. By varying the position of the explosive impact on this generic ship, we can predict if the ship will sink, the rate at which the ship will sink, the damage to any cargo, etc.

This project was published in the ASC/MSRC quarterly journal as the feature article, spring 2003.
